Developed by engineers at Goodyear's innovation centre in Luxembourg, futuristic ** BH03 ** — the world's first tyre that can generate its own electricity.
Concept bus BH03 produces electricity, which can be supplied with battery hybrid powertrain of the car. Electricity generation is going through a transformation strain pulses tyres in motion and heat energy through the action of two kinds of material: the Thermo-and piezoelectric. These materials form a 3D network, forming the inner structure of a tyre which can generate energy and load the car even when punctured tyre. In addition, it has a wide cylindrical channel improves slip resistance on wet surfaces, and unique tread that absorbs noise. In response to growing interest in electric vehicles on the market this kind of innovation must play a significant role in current discussions about the future of mobility.
