The Michelin X-Ice Snow winter friction tire offers improved ice and snow grip and longer life than competitors. The novelty, developed for passenger cars, crossovers and SUVs, leads in the following indicators:
in braking on ice and snow
braking on ice and snow despite wear and tear
by mileage
Thanks to the unique technologies used in the development of the new Michelin X-Ice Snow winter tire, drivers are provided with a high level of safety both on new tires and on tires with wear.
The novelty, tested in extreme winter conditions, has demonstrated the following results:
grip on ice improved by 8% compared to the previous model
snow traction improved by 4% compared to the previous model
Michelin X-Ice Snow tire mileage 17% higher than the average of competitors
The new X-Ice Snow tire provides a high level of performance for safe driving in extreme winter conditions through a range of innovative solutions, including the new generation of Flex-Ice compound. Based on a new generation of elastomers, this formula maintains elasticity even at very low temperatures and greater rigidity at moderate temperatures. The inclusions contained within the polymer-based material, a material of less dense composition, form microroughnesses that effectively absorb the water film on the ice and create additional cling edges for working on snow season after season.
New V-shaped tread pattern with increased width of drainage channels and new block shape serves to efficiently evacuate snow and water from the contact patch.
The design includes two types of new three-dimensional sipes: U-shaped sipes maintain the necessary rigidity of the block when maneuvering to improve handling properties, and sipes of variable thickness effectively remove the water film on the ice cover and, being clogged with snow, provide a "sticking effect" on the snow to achieve high the level of adhesion properties.
The shape of the blocks, drainage channels, as well as the degree of tread siping remain practically unchanged up to the minimum allowable tread depth to maintain a high level of performance throughout the entire service life.
The Michelin X-Ice Snow tire will replace the Michelin X-Ice 3 and Michelin Latitude X-Ice 2. In the fall of 2020, the new tire will be available in 92 sizes with a rim from 14 to 22 inches for passenger cars, crossovers and SUVs. In the fall of 2021, the line will be supplemented with 51 more sizes.
No sizes are available.
