MRF started out as a rubber balloons factory with Rs.14,000 funding back in the 40s and is now a multibillion dollar heritage that produces quality tires used throughout India and internationally along with a presence in paints and coats, toys, motorsport and cricket.

MRF's origins date back to a humble shack in Madras that housed its first homemade toy balloon unit, created by KM Mammen Mappillai in 1946. It was not until 1952 when he changed course and turned to tread rubber production. Thus began his glorious reign as the undisputed leader in shino shino shinochemistry.

By the early 60s, MRF was exporting its quality tires to offices abroad in many countries, and soon its presence became known worldwide in 65 different countries - with tires, rolling out 8 facilities built on 450 acres, 4000 plus strong dealer networks. and 180 different offices.

He decided to associate himself with some of the world's best fast bowler through the "Pace Foundation" - an academy that has produced legends such as Irfan Patan, Munaf Patel, RP Singh, Bret Lee, Shoaib Akhtar, Glenn McGrath and more.

MRF's passion for motorsport is evident through its involvement in racing, go-karting, rallying and various other motorsport activities. His rally team has won the prestigious FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship twice and even in international championships, MRF kart tires, homologated by the FIA, are the preferred choice.
