MRF started out as a rubber balloons factory with Rs.14,000 funding back in the 40s and is now a multibillion dollar heritage that produces quality tires used throughout India and internationally along with a presence in paints and coats, toys, motorsport and cricket.

MRF's origins date back to a humble shack in Madras that housed its first homemade toy balloon unit, created by KM Mammen Mappillai in 1946. MRF's passion for motorsport is evident through its involvement in racing, go-karting, rallying and various other motorsport activities.
