Nokian Hakka Van tires

The vehicle's balanced handling combined with tire reliability makes life easier for both hard-working professionals and active travelers. The durability of the new tires comes from Nokian Tires' proprietary aramid sidewall technology, which provides protection against impacts, cuts and potholes, as well as a tough cord construction and a durable rubber compound formulated with state-of-the-art technology.

The concept of reliable handling and comfort, developed by the world's most northerly tire manufacturer, allows you to travel safely and reliably in the changing summer weather. Nokian Hakka Van tires provide a comfortable driving experience, and their low rolling resistance ensures fuel economy and reduces harmful carbon emissions.

By effectively tackling road difficulties, the Nokian Hakka Van tires provide driving confidence and are ideal for all modern light duty trucks and vans. The wide range includes 21 standard sizes with diameters from 14 to 18 inches with speed ratings R (170 km / h), S (180 km / h), T (190 km / h) and H (210 km / h).

Nokian Hakka Van tires will go on retail sale in spring 2021. The main markets for them, as well as for the entire Nokian Hakka family, known for their effectiveness in changing summer weather conditions, are Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and the countries of Northern Europe.

Grip and stability in all conditions

When creating tires Nokian Hakka Van took into account the feedback of consumers who expect from summer tires durability when operating on roads with poor quality surfaces and resistance to heavy loads. Nokian Tires' customer survey found that van and minivan owners value good wet grip and avoidance of aquaplaning, as well as the tire's durability.

Computer simulations, thousands of kilometers of testing and real-world taxi operation helped us develop the concept of reliability and comfort. New solutions in the development of rubber compounds, tread patterns and tire designs that ensure continued safety, fuel economy and driving comfort form the core of Nokian Tires' competence in developing its own products.

To facilitate handling of heavy utility vans, the tread is stiffened by long ribbed lugs that provide a smooth and stable handling, just like driving a passenger car, even at high speeds, sudden maneuvers and lane changes. Stone removers at the bottom of the grooves minimize sharp stones entering the tire. The grooves of various shapes and sizes on the longitudinal ribs of the tread provide good grip on the wet road and driving comfort, accumulating water and providing a predetermined lateral displacement of the ribs. The lateral grooves also collect water, effectively displacing it from the tire-to-road contact patch. The shape of the grooves provides excellent wet grip, even with high tire wear. Wide main tread grooves also reduce the risk of aquaplaning.

A steel belt pack sits on top of the rigid two-ply frame contains built-in reinforcement areas along the edges of both layers. This solution ensures the durability of the belt layers under difficult operating conditions and their reliable attachment to the frame.

The new, more flexible steel belt wire for minivan, camper and light truck tires improves durability and allows the tire to maintain high performance even under high loads. At the same time, it lowers rolling resistance, which in turn reduces fuel consumption for the benefit of all drivers, as well as minimizing harmful carbon dioxide emissions.

The safety, durability and low rolling resistance of Nokian Hakka Van tires are due to the Hakka Van Hybrid tread compound, adapted to the most challenging conditions.

Designed specifically for tough climates and extremely cut resistant, the modern compound provides exceptional wet grip, allowing a vehicle with Hakka Van tires to stop quickly, even on slippery roads. The tread compound works reliably over a wide temperature range, adapts to temperature fluctuations, resists wear well and guarantees economical fuel consumption.

The modern level of tire wear resistance is also ensured by the reinforcement of the sidewalls with aramid fibers and the use of stone removers located at the bottom of the grooves. Aramid fiber protects tires from accidental damage. The original technology for reinforcing the sidewalls with aramid fibers is to add aramid fibers to the rubber compound in the area of the tire sidewalls. A similar material is used in the aerospace and defense industries. Aramid fiber gives the sidewall extra stiffness and strength for even better protection against impact and cuts, which can also prevent tire damage.

The tread wear indicator (DSI - Driving Safety Indicator) on the center rib clearly indicates the residual depth of the tread grooves in millimeters. The water drop symbol, decreasing in size and gradually disappearing as the tread wears, indicates an increased risk of aquaplaning. When this symbol disappears completely (with a residual tread depth of 4 mm), it's time to buy new summer tires.

Correct tire pressure is especially important in commercial vehicle use and heavy loads. Correct tire pressure improves the driving experience, ensures tire durability and reduces fuel consumption. Checking tire pressures is made easier with an information area on the sidewall of the tire, where you can indicate the correct tire pressure, the location of the tire on the vehicle and the tightening torque of the bolts.
