OCSiAl will develop graphene materials for tires

Graphene nanotube supplier OCSiAl has opened a new research and development center in Luxembourg to develop next-generation graphene nanotube materials.

OCSiAl announced on September 30 that the new center will complement the company's existing R&D and technical support facilities in Asia and Eastern Europe.

The new OCSiAl center will focus on nanotechnology and materials development for modern eco-transport and energy efficient and safe tires. We are talking mainly about the creation of elastomers and thermoplastic composite materials reinforced with graphene nanotubes.

“We're making it possible to build safer, lighter, smarter and more sustainable vehicles,” said Konstantin Notman, senior vice president, OCSiAl.

The company plans to launch the world's largest graphene nanotube manufacturing facility in Luxembourg in 2023.
