Nikolay Zettser will head Continental AG

From December 1, 2020, 49-year-old Nikolai Setzer will take over as CEO of Continental AG and Chairman of the Executive Board of the company. He replaces Elmar Degenhart, who is leaving the company due to health problems.

Nikolai Zettser will serve as Chief Executive Officer of Continental AG and Chairman of the Executive Board until March 2024, Conti reports.

Commenting on his replacement, Elmar Degenhart noted that "strategic foresight and the ability to implement ideas," Setzer "has gained recognition both within the company and beyond."

Nikolai Zettser has worked at Continental for over 23 years, during which time he has held various development and sales positions in Germany and abroad; in March 2009 he took over as head of the company's passenger tire business unit, and in August 2009 he became a member of the executive board of Continental AG. Since 2011, he has been in charge of the company's tire business, since 2015 - corporate procurement. In April 2019, Nikolai Zettser moved to the Continental Automotive Group, where he took up the post of speaker of the automotive division of the German concern, which he will retain after the new appointment.
