Experts predict a shortage of natural rubber in the world market

According to the forecasts of the Association of Natural Rubber Manufacturing Countries (ANRPC), in 2022 the global natural rubber market will maintain a balanced ratio of supply and demand, but by 2023 the market will "enter into a long period of shortage."

The association stated that a long period of overcapacity and supply is coming to an end in the natural rubber sector.

According to the association's forecast, the shortage of natural rubber will last until 2031, and the gap between supply and demand will grow.

The global rubber plantation area is expected to increase by almost 250,000 hectares in 2022, but this increase will be offset by global growth in demand for raw materials, which is projected to be around 4%. And starting from 2023, the supply on the natural rubber market will begin to fall behind demand, and the deficit will gradually increase until at least 2028.
