Petlas launches puncture-free tires for the army

Turkish tire manufacturer Petlas has developed tires that use what it claims to be "unique technology" to provide comfort and safety for the country's military.

"The superior performance of the RM900 and RM910 models offer an excellent combination of stability and safety," Petlas said in a statement.

The new development provides military vehicles with ultra-high performance and driving safety in the event of any damage that could result in a loss of tire pressure.

The tires provide military vehicles with increased ride comfort, precise handling, steering stability, and they also support increased grip on mud, sand and snow.

Thanks to the design, the tires are reliably protected from damage - special inserts prevent damage and failure, including in the event of ballistic damage. The special compound, which Petlas does not provide details on, also protects the tire from damage, punctures and loss of pressure.

In the event of a puncture or other serious damage, the new Petlas military tires are capable of traveling about 96 km at a speed of 50 km/h (31 mph).
