Michelin presents the new Michelin X-Ice Snow studless tire for the winter season. The new high-tech tire reflects Michelin's concept of maintaining a high level of performance as it wears out.
Michelin's strategy, announced in 2017, drives and influences Michelin's tire design and technology. It helps to create tires that perform well from the day of purchase until the minimum tread depth of 4mm for winter tires is reached. This approach maximizes the use of all materials and resources, as well as unlocks the potential of the tire, while maintaining safety and reducing the environmental impact.
“We are delighted to present a truly unique product to the market, based on the concept of maintaining a high level of performance as wear and tear, which is applicable today to all Michelin product lines, regardless of segment and operating conditions. The Michelin X-Ice Snow is the first non-studded tire for severe winter conditions to be part of this concept. The novelty maintains a high level of consumer characteristics throughout the entire service life, and the tests carried out confirm this fact. In addition, the non-studded new product has the highest mileage in its segment, which means that the need for tire changes is much less frequent. Thus, we solve two problems at once - we provide the consumer with the maximum level of safety by offering a high-tech and durable product, and we care about the environment,” comments Ekaterina Fayzulina, Michelin Marketing Director for the Eastern European Region.
