The Indian Apollo Tyres company has a long history of partnership with Manchester United as FC's official global tire partner. It has now announced it is expanding its partnership with the Club to include its Vredestein tire brand.
The move is part of Vredestein's ambitious brand growth strategy in the European and North American markets, as it provides the ideal platform for increasing Vredestein brand awareness.
“We are delighted to partner the Vredestein brand with Manchester United FC as well as the Apollo brand,” said Apollo Tires Vice Chairman and CEO Neeraj Kanwar.
The convergence of the Vredestein Tires brand with FC is not surprising, Apollo notes, since they have many similarities. The club and brand have been leaders in the premium segment for over 100 years, and have a common European history behind them and are guided by similar values.
“Together, Manchester United FC and Apollo Tires have achieved tremendous success in increasing brand awareness among a global audience, and we look forward to repeating this in Europe and North America - this time for the Vredestein brand,” added Niraj Kanwar.
The Vredestein brand will be featured on billboards during MU's home games. In addition, partnerships in the Internet and in print, joint marketing campaigns and other activities are planned.
