Marangoni tread rings withstand a distance of 800 thousand kilometers

The North American branch reported that the remanufactured RDG 200 rings were able to cover a distance of 500,347 miles (805,230 km) prior to replacement. The RDG 200 has a closed shoulder design for retreading tires fitted to the drive axle of trucks. The tread depth is 2.14 cm, and a special rubber compound is used to increase the resource.

The half-million-mile retreaded tires were installed by Tennessee-based Douglas Simons Trucking in December 2015 and removed in July 2020. The casing was taken from Pirelli FH01 tires, and the retreading was done by Wilson County Tire.

“I knew the RDG 200 from Marangoni provided excellent traction in all weather conditions, but I was surprised at how durable this product was,” said Doug Simons, owner of Douglas Simons Trucking. - Every time we took measurements, the predicted resource increased. Ringtread technology really works. "

Cliff Armstrong, president of Marangoni North America, added that the increased resource of the RDG 200 helps reduce costs per mile. “The 500,347 miles is not only proof of the effectiveness of the Ringtread System, but also proof that fleets can use their full tire life while reducing their costs. Douglas Simons uses quality carcasses and premium remanufacturing products, as well as monitoring tire pressure and correct camber / camber. This is an example that must be followed by all vehicle fleets,” he stressed.
