Continental Korea has announced that a new hybrid version of the popular Hyundai Tucson crossover will be fitted with 18-inch Continental ContiCrossContact LX Sport all-season tires.
According to the manufacturer, the tires selected for the Tucson are designed to provide optimum acceleration and braking performance on a variety of surfaces and in a variety of weather conditions, including snow. The tires have an asymmetrical tread pattern designed to improve handling and comfort, and in addition, reduced rolling resistance helps reduce energy loss.
The Continental ContiCrossContact LX Sport has previously been homologated by Land Rover and Volvo. In Korea, tires have been approved for crossover models such as the Hyundai Santa Fe and Max Cruise, as well as the Kia Carnival and Sorento (MQ4), and the company says it is rapidly gaining ground in the local OE sector.
“We are delighted to be completing the most popular crossovers in Korea, from the new Sorento to the Carnival to the Tucson hybrid,” said Jaehek Kim, managing director of Continental Korea. "Our tires will definitely give customers a real driving pleasure."
Earlier, Korean media reported that local automakers are increasingly equipping their models with tires of foreign brands, and French Michelin has also become a supplier of tires for the new Tucson, in addition to Continental.
