The Alliance Tire Group in America has announced the launch of a new line of Galaxy-branded radial truck/bus (TBR) tires, which includes ten models available in over 40 sizes. The tires have a 16-ply all-steel construction and are intended for long-distance and regional transport, as well as the construction sector. Models are available for all tractor and trailer axles, and ATG says the range will expand in the future.
“The Galaxy brand has been known for decades for its reliable, high quality off-road tires. Now we have made this reliability and technology available to users of technology on the highways, - said Dhawal Nanavati, president of the American division of ATG. - With many years of sales and service experience in the medium-duty truck tire segment, we have an excellent sales network and a deep understanding of this market, and the know-how and resources of our parent company, Yokohama Tire & Rubber Co., played a key role in launching the production of truck tires worldwide level ".
ATG adds that Galaxy tires have been developed with new rubber compounds and elaborate tread patterns with stone repellents, parting grooves and sipes, and individual models have been adapted to different applications. Some tires are made from special compounds with increased tear resistance, as they are intended for use on construction sites and off-road, while others have been specially designed to reduce wear when operating on highways. All tires have a modified bead zone for easier mounting and a more secure fit to the rim.
Manufactured at Alliance's newly built plant in Dahej, India, the company emphasizes that state-of-the-art technology is used at every stage - from controlled-environment raw material warehouses to computerized production lines.
“Our manufacturing process is ISO, BH OSAS and VCA compliant, and many Galaxy tires are also US EPA SmartWay certified because of their low rolling resistance and fuel efficiency,” Nanawati said. - The warranty covers two restorations for each frame. All in all, Galaxy tires will help reduce customer costs and will be a cost-effective product for dealers. ”
The truck tires were sent to users for testing last summer and have performed well in regional and long-haul transportation, Nanawati said. “We attach great importance to careful control of product quality at the plant, as well as testing it in the real world,” he stressed.
Galaxy truck tires are currently available in the US market, and the company has not specified whether it plans to launch a similar program in other regions.
