Michelin's BFGoodrich brand is well versed when it comes to grip on muddy and rocky roads. Now the tire manufacturer is using this experience to create “shoes” that are not made for cars.
The tire manufacturer has partnered with Cabela's L.L.C., one of the largest US retailers in the hunting, fishing and tourism industry, to develop a new hunting boot, the Cabela Treadfast Zoned Insulation Boot. The outsole pattern is similar to the tread pattern of the popular BFGoodrich All-Terrain T / A KO2 off-road tire.
This exclusive shoe is only available at Cabela's and its parent company, Bass Pro Shops.
The sole pattern of the boots follows the tire tread design, making the shoe ideal for off-road use. Outsole pattern features include protection against pebble and gravel sticking, while block patterns provide extra traction on loose and slippery surfaces.
This is the second time BFGoodrich has partnered with Bass Pro Shops: in March, the companies unveiled a co-developed fishing shoe that also borrowed tire technology and design to improve wet and dry grip.
