Goodyear launches WinterCommand Ultra winter tire

Goodyear has introduced its new winter studless tire, WinterCommand Ultra, to the North American market. The novelty, according to the manufacturer, demonstrates excellent performance on ice and snow, combined with high ride comfort. Now the novelty is presented in the markets of the USA and Canada in 23 popular standard sizes from R15 to R18, designed for sedans, crossovers and SUVs. Goodyear will launch 27 more sizes in 2021.

According to Goodyear, the WinterCommand Ultra winter friction tire performs exceptionally well on ice and snow; During in-plant tests, the novelty outperformed competing brands' tires in handling and cornering grip on wet road surfaces, as well as in aquaplaning resistance and ride comfort.

A specially developed Cryo-Adaptative compound is used for the tire, which retains elasticity even in severe frost and allows drivers to maintain control of their driving. V-Tred's special technology includes "hydrodynamic" grooves to maximize the removal of water, slush and sleet from the contact patch. ActiveGrip technology improves handling and grip on wet and snowy roads, while Active Block Cuts and Adaptive SipeGrip technologies maintain safe grip on slippery surfaces.
