Pirelli motorsports chief infected with coronavirus

Pirelli has confirmed that the head of its motorsport division, Mario Isola, has tested positive for Covid-19.

The test was taken on Sunday at the Turkish Grand Prix during a routine routine check. Pirelli reports that Mario Isola is isolated and has no symptoms. All his close contacts have been established, repeated tests have been carried out, and no new positive cases have been identified.

According to Turkish rules, in the absence of symptoms, a person must remain in self-isolation until a second test, which is done a week later. After that, Izola, subject to the necessary security measures, can return to Italy.

This spring, Mario Isola volunteered for the medical team to help fight the coronavirus pandemic in Italy.
