Bridgestone recalls nearly two thousand tires

Bridgestone is recalling nearly 2,000 passenger and light truck tires from the US and Canadian markets.

Recalled are 1923 Firestone Destination LE3 tires in size 255/60 R19, manufactured between June 14 and July 18, 2020 with DOT codes 2420 - 2820, and Bridgestone Ecopia H / L 422 Plus tires in size P255 / 60 R19, manufactured from July 12 until August 8, 2020 with DOT codes 2820 - 3120.

Tires may have a manufacturing defect: a small hole in the top of the sidewall. In rare cases, the hole may also touch the inner layer of the tire, and then air can slowly flow out of the tire. If air loss is not detected in time, it can increase the risk of an accident.

At the moment, the company says it is unaware of any tire related incidents.

The tires to be recalled were predominantly sold in the US and Canadian replacement markets.
