BKT is not afraid of new competitors

BKT commented on the launch of the first plant of the new Mahansaria Tyres.

At the end of September, the Indian company Mahansaria Tyres, created by experienced manager Yogesh Mahansaria, announced the start of production at its first plant. The new facility is located in Panoli (Gujarat) in western India, and the range includes tires for agricultural and other special equipment.

The launch of the plant created a new competitor, including for the Indian BKT (in which Mahansaria once worked), but the company noted that they do not see this as any particular threat to themselves.

“The emergence of another player, of course, will have some impact on the market, but the impact on our overall strategy and our position will not be particularly large,” said Lucia Salmaso, CEO of BKT Europe. - Our market has always been highly competitive, and new players appear and disappear all the time. The situation is constantly changing, and it will always be so. "

At the moment, BKT is following its development strategy for 2020-2025, which includes, in particular, the construction of a $ 100 million plant in the United States. The new complex, announced in 2018, will be BKT's first plant outside India and the company's fifth production site.

Salmaso also added that the company continues to implement investment programs in India. “We are modernizing our factories and equipment and increasing capacity in accordance with the set goals,” she said.

Salmaso gave her comment at a press conference on the fact that BKT signed a three-year partnership agreement with the Euroleague basketball.
