Michelin Tire Distribution Center received LEED eco-certification

Michelin North America received Gold for Environmental Achievement. Its tire distribution center in Woodruff, South Carolina, USA, has received the US Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED Gold certification.

Michelin has been awarded the LEED Gold Certificate for its successful implementation of strategies for the center's sustainability, water conservation, energy efficiency, material selection and indoor environmental quality. In particular, the distribution center uses hydrogen fuel cell forklifts.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification system, developed by the US Green Building Council, is the world's most widely used green building rating system. Through best practices in design, construction and operation, all LEED-certified buildings help make the world a greener place.
