Sri Lankan tire manufacturer LAUGFS Corporation ramps up production

Sri Lanka-based LAUGFS Corporation (Rubber) plans to build a second solid tire line, which will expand the existing plant's capacity and double its current production. This project is expected to be completed in two years.

In addition, a project for a plant for the production of industrial pneumatic tires is underway.

This became known when the Minister of Commerce of the country, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, visited LAUGFS in the city of Khorana in western Sri Lanka. The Minister visited the LAUGFS tire factory in Horan and discussed the prospects for the company's further development.

LAUGFS Corporation (Rubber) Ltd. was established in 2008 as a subsidiary of LAUGFS Holdings to diversify its presence in the country's rubber industry. The company specializes in the production of solid industrial tires. LAUGFS Rubber currently operates one of the most modern and environmentally friendly manufacturing facilities in the country. The Horan plant produces a wide range of industrial tires, including solid tires for material handling, construction and mining equipment and a variety of auxiliary equipment.

In January 2020, LAUGFS (Corporation) Rubber introduced another addition to its portfolio - the Super Solid Loader Grip tire, which is considered the largest tire produced in Sri Lanka.

Today LAUGFS tires are exported to more than 36 countries around the world, including the US and European markets. The company has overseas offices in Illinois, USA, and Florinweg, The Netherlands. The company has also taken steps to expand its distribution network by nominating three new distributors in France, the UAE and the US West Coast.
