Pandemic has stopped the launch of a tire plant in the UAE

The 600 millionth tire plant project in Abu Dhabi has been frozen due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Construction of the $ 614 million Roadbot Tire Industries tire plant began in January 2019. However, a pandemic stood in the way of the successful implementation of the project. According to the industry publication Tires & Accessories, by July of this year, the company had approved and completed the necessary project applications, construction projects and drawings, but further work was suspended in March 2020.

The Roadbot Tire Industries Abu Dhabi plant project is a collaboration between the UAE authorities and the Chinese company Roadbot. The plant was slated to begin production by October 2020. Initially, the annual capacity of the plant should be 3 million cars and 1 million truck / bus tires, and by 2022 these figures should have increased to 10 million tires.
