Michelin tire factory in Spain celebrates anniversary

The Spanish Michelin plant in Aranda de Duero, province of Burgos, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year - the first tire rolled off the assembly line on July 27, 1970. Now the plant is one of the key enterprises in the region, providing jobs and economic activity.

The production capacity of the plant today reaches 150,000 tons of finished products per year. Michelin manufactures over 80 truck and bus tire sizes and models in Burgos. The Aranda plant employs 1,300 people.

In 2003, the plant produced the 25 millionth tire and reached the 50 million tire mark in December 2016.

70% of the production at the Aranda de Duero plant is destined for the replacement market, another 30% goes directly to car manufacturers. In addition, 90% of the plant's products are supplied to overseas markets, including Russia, Africa, the Middle East and North America.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the plant, Michelin has planted over 1200 sq. m.
