In 2021, Bridgestone Americas will introduce several new products to the North American market - two premium Potenza tires and the Alenza Ultra AS all-season tire for luxury cars, crossovers and SUVs.
The new Potenza Sport is an upgraded version of the summer tire Potenza Sport, offering measurable improvements in acceleration, traction and braking on dry and wet roads compared to the current generation tire. The tire uses an innovative ultra high silica compound that improves grip and handling in extreme conditions. The optimized tread pattern of the new product with deep circular grooves effectively removes water from the contact patch, powerful blocks increase the contact of the tire with the road, and 3D sipes increase the rigidity of the tread pattern and enhance grip on wet asphalt.
The latest version of the Potenza Sport is used as standard equipment for the Maserati S.p.A. sports car. MC20. It will go on sale in the first half of 2021 in 65 sizes, covering 81% of the sports car and sedan market.
The second novelty, the premium Potenza RE980AS + tire, provides strong traction and sporty performance all year round, even on winter roads. The RE980AS + has an asymmetrical tread pattern with 3-D sipes, which together with an optimized compound are responsible for increased grip on winter roads. The tire also offers improved ride comfort and increased durability over the Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS.
The new Potenza RE980AS + will hit the market in the first half of 2021 in several popular sizes.
In the second half of 2021, Bridgestone will launch another new product, the Alenza US Ultra all-season luxury tire, designed for the growing crossover and SUV segment.
The Alenza AS Ultra offers consistent levels of performance on wet asphalt, confident traction on snow and a long service life comparable to the Bridgestone Dueler H / L Alenza Plus. Thanks to a new generation compound and an optimized tread pattern, the tire offers improved performance on snow and wet asphalt. The novelty is also created using Bridgestone QuietTrack technology, which reduces noise when driving.
The Alenza US Ultra tire will be available in 49 sizes, including 18-inch and larger.
