Nokian will plant 50 thousand trees in the USA

Nokian Tyres will plant 50,000 trees in the US in a joint promotion with its regional partner, POWDR, which operates several American ski resorts.

The promotion took place in August this year - for each season pass purchased to one of the POWDR resorts, partners pledged to plant one tree.

Nokian is the Official Tire Partner for Copper Mountain, Killington, Mt. Bachelor, Snowbird and Eldora located in the states of Vermont, Colorado, Oregon and Utah. Trees will be planted near the resorts in 2021, and 50,000 trees are expected to absorb nearly 50,000 tonnes of CO2 over their lifetime, equivalent to the emissions of about 9,800 passenger cars in one year.

“Nokian Tyres has a long history of protecting the environment,” said Hans Dyhrman, Marketing Director for Nokian. “Last month, our manufacturing facility in Dayton, Tennessee, received LEED v4 Silver certification for significant achievements in green building. In addition, we were the first tire company to stop using harmful high aromatic oils in their products. Planting 50,000 trees in partnership with POWDR meets our environmental goals. ”
