China presented a plan for the development of the tire industry in the next five years

The China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA) has presented new guidelines for the development of the industry from 2021 to 2025. The guidelines set goals for production, technology upgrades and energy consumption.

The country is projected to produce 704 million tires per year by 2025, of which 96% will be radials, including 527 million passenger radial tires, 148 million truck/bus radial tires, and 29 million bias truck tires. There will also be 20,000 extra-large industrial tires and 12 million agricultural tires, of which 16% will be radial. At the moment, the share of radial tires in the segment for agricultural machinery is about 2.5%. In addition, China will produce 54,000 aircraft tires.

CRIA names the commercialization of the production of tires for aviation, the transition to the production of tubeless tires (up to 70% of the total volume of trucks and buses), and an increase in the share of passenger car RFT tires up to 30% as the main goals for the tire industry for the next five years. It is also planned that at least 70% of the tires put on the market will be "green".

By 2025, China's annual production of motorcycle tires will reach 120.7 million. Cameras will be produced 211.1 million units. Production of bicycle tires will grow to 420 million units, and tubes - to 55 million units. Also, the country will annually produce 363 million tires for mopeds and 77 million tubes for them.

CRIA cites the growth of commercial production of radial motorcycle tires, including high-speed tires, as well as the increase in tire quality, development of materials for non-pneumatic bicycle tires and the launch of high-end bicycle tires as targets for this segment of the industry.
