Davanti opens a new technical center in Spain

British tire brand Davanti Tires opens a new European research center in Spain, based on the Applus + IDIADA test facility. The brand, owned by the UK-based Oak Group, says its new hub "will spearhead the development of next-generation tire design."

Davanti previously used a Spanish plant in the northeast of the country near Barcelona to develop tires. The new center will allow R&D professionals to experiment with new and innovative designs and materials, accelerate new product development, improve testing and enhance the existing tire portfolio. According to Davanti CEO Peter Cross, this is the company's biggest step since it launched its first DX390 tire.

With wide, year-round access to IDIADA test sites, Davanti will be able to actively test to develop new products and plan new developments to expand its product range.

“This is the biggest step Davanti has made since we launched our first DX390 tire,” said Davanti Tires CEO Peter Cross. "We will now be able to physically test more prototypes at an earlier stage of development to ensure that our next generation products set a new benchmark for quality."

Davanti has equipped the center with a complex of the latest equipment for the analysis and design of tires. The company is investing heavily in the project despite the ongoing global pandemic.
