At the ZC Rubber plant in Rayong, Thailand, which completed its third expansion phase, the first passenger car tires were produced on October 31st.
Construction work for the third phase was started by ZC in December 2019. The project is the final stage of the company's large-scale investment in its Thai plant, where a total of about 654 million euros were invested. ZC Rubber's production capacity in Thailand now exceeds 20 million tires a year, the company said.
The construction is planned to be finally completed by the end of the year after the commissioning and optimization of the third phase. Full commissioning, ZC notes, could be delayed due to the pandemic as some engineers were unable to travel to Thailand and had to work remotely from China.
The Chinese company ZC Rubber began production at its plant in Thailand in June 2015. The enterprise produces tires for passenger cars, tires for trucks and buses, motorcycle tires, as well as diagonal industrial tires.
