Sumitomo Tires

The Japanese company Sumitomo Corporation is one of the largest wholesale corporations in the country. The company develops active trading activities both within Japan and in 65 countries of Europe and Asia. The well-established trading network is successfully operating thanks to 120 official representations and more than 267 thousand employees.

The history of the company begins in the 16th century, more than 400 years ago. The founder of the corporation was Masamoto Sumitomo, who originally ran a bookstore and pharmacy. With no special business skills, but working hard and efficiently, Sumitomo managed to transform a small firm into a huge corporation. It is thanks to a carefully thought-out strategy and a philosophical approach to doing business that Sumitomo Corporation entered the TOP-5 of the largest transnational companies in the world.

Over time, under the auspices of this corporation, a whole business group of companies of different directions was formed: ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, mechanical engineering, ceramics processing, mining activities, real estate trade and production of consumer goods.

One of the subsidiaries is Sumitomo RubberIndustries, Ltd. has established itself in the world market as a reliable manufacturer of premium car tires. Sumitomo tires are not just tires, but a brand that guarantees the quality of their products.

The history of formation of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd began in 1909, after its merger with Dunlop Japan - the Japanese branch of the British concern Dunlop. It was in collaboration with Dunlop in 1913 that the first elite class car tires for Japan were produced.

By 1985 Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. completely bought out the Dunlop trademark and 6 rubber factories belonging to it (Great Britain, Germany and France).

Over the next 30 years of its existence, the company has tirelessly expanded its existing model range and improved its products. All that remains for us is to enjoy the quality and exclusivity of the Japanese manufacturer.
