Michelin focusing on human-machine collaboration with university partners

FactoLab is the name given to the new public private laboratory, Michelin should jointly establish three research laboratories of the University of Clermont Auvergne in France. Tire manufacturer officially opened FactoLab together with representatives from the Institut Pascal, Lapsco limousines and 10 February.

The laboratory shares Michelin, is "dedicated to the industry of the future." In particular, FactoLab sells medium- and long-term research and development program, which will focus on human machine cooperation, particularly in robotics and new digital technologies. The goal is to improve conditions in the workplace by developing teamwork and connected devices that eliminate some of the stress or heavy physical cause problems facing production operators. This program will continue and expand on experiments now in Michelin production facilities in Cholet, France and Spain, working Michelin reports that positive initial results set.

FactoLab six regulated person steering committee consisting of three representatives of research and three representatives of the Michelin Group; The Committee is responsible for approving the laboratory research programs and monitoring the work. Initiated LabEx IMobS3, is a joint laboratory under contract with the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research), University of Clermont Auvergne and Clermont SIGMA School of Engineering.
