ANRPC expects growth in the production of natural rubber in 2017

In January, the price of natural rubber in key markets grew by an average of 10%, said the Association of producers of natural rubber (ANRPC).

In addition, despite not being the best results in 2016, ANRPC expects that in 2017 this raw material production will increase by 4.4% - to 11.22 million tons.

In general, the 2016 production of natural rubber ANRPC nine countries fell by 2.7% - to 10.7 million tons. This year, all the countries of the Association, with the exception of Indonesia, the forecast increase in production, and some - very significant. So, Cambodia expects that will increase the production of natural rubber by 37.3% - up to 204 thousand tons. Indonesia, by contrast, expects its production volumes of these raw materials will be reduced in 2017 by 0.2% - to 3.15 million tons.

At the same time ANRPC countries will increase the volume of domestic rubber consumption by 1.8%, from 8.04 to 8.19 million. tons. Reducing the volume of rubber consumption by 1% expects only Malaysia.

With regard to exports, which fell by 3% in 2016, ANRPC expects growth of 2.6% in 2017, to 8.99 million tons.

Imports of natural rubber ANRPC will increase this year by 1.8% forecast to 8.19 million tons. Interestingly, all countries except China, expect some decline in imports of rubber, and only China plans to increase imports of raw materials to 4.3 mln. tons.
