Falken wins "Tire Technology of the Year Award"

Sumitomo Rubber Industries owned brand Falken won one of the awards "Tire Technology of the Year Award", which were awarded to 15 February 2017 at the Tire Technology Expo exhibition in Hanover, where every year choose the world's leading tire business in the field of innovation and quality.

An independent jury appreciated the presented technology brand Advanced 4D Nano Design.

Falken states that use Advanced 4D Nano Design technology leads to improved adhesion and durability of the tire, as well as a marked reduction in rolling resistance. This technology is used in the manufacture of tires Falken Azenis FK510, Azenis FK543 Runflat and brand new products in the segment of commercial-grade tires - Falken Linam VAN01, Eurowinter VAN01, Nordic SI021 / SI011, RI 151 and 851 BI.

Advanced 4D Nano Design was developed by Falken controlled by Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI), which occupies the sixth place in the list of the world's leading tire manufacturers. The technology allows engineers to perform highly realistic simulation of the internal structure and behavior of rubber materials under different conditions. When using synchrotron radiation can be carried out SPring-8, the structural analysis of the rubber compound, and the proton accelerator facility J-PARC allows even track the movement of the molecules of the compound. In general, proprietary SRI Advanced 4D Nano Design technology makes it possible to accurately predict the properties of rubber materials and obtain improvements in three key areas for tires - clutch, fuel efficiency and durability.

SRI receives award Tire Technology International Award for the fifth time: before achieving the company received high praise in 2008 (for a passenger bus Enasave 97), in 2010 (for the fourth generation of runflat SRI tires), in 2009 and 2014 ( both times - for achievements in the field of 'green' technologies).

Award on behalf of the company took Kozaburo Nakaseke (Kozaburo Nakaseko), a top manager of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, the head of the Sumitomo Rubber Industries Research and Development Dr. Masato Naito (Masato Naito) and Dr. Bernd Lёvenhaupt (Bernd Löwenhaupt), Managing Director of Sumitomo Rubber Europe GmbH. "We have made great progress in regard to new materials, and the development of new manufacturing processes, - said Kozaburo Nakaseke. - In turn, this has paved the way for the development of such tires as our model Falken Ecorun, get the most European marking A-A ". In the future, confirmed Kozaburo Nakaseke, Sumitomo Rubber Industries will continue to conduct research and development using the most advanced technologies.
