Best tire novelties announced at SEMA 2021

At the SEMA Automotive Tuning Show in Las Vegas, which again this year is held in a traditional format, awards were presented to the best new products, including in the category "Tires". The award marked "innovative and cutting edge" new products, and the best tires were recognized as the Mickey Thompson Baja Legend EXP, whose official premiere has not even taken place yet.

The Baja Legend EXP is characterized as an “ultra-terrain” tire with “legendary Mickey Thompson design and optimized tread geometry” for both asphalt and off-road use. The sidebiters' aggressive lugs improve flotation, while the Powerply triple layer sidewalls offer increased impact resistance and quicker steering response. In addition, the silica compound is formulated to increase tire life and cut resistance, as well as improve handling and braking performance on wet surfaces.

Cooper Discoverer Snow Claw winter tires and Mickey Thompson ET Street Front drag tires shared second place. So Cooper, which owns the Mickey Thompson brand (and now owns Goodyear itself), took over all the awards.

The Cooper Discoverer Snow Claw winter tires are designed for off-road vehicles and pickup trucks and are studded for increased grip on ice. The design features Snow-Grooves zigzag grooves for improved ride on snowy surfaces, and tire tests have been carried out on three continents.

Finally, the narrow Mickey Thompson ET Street Front drag racing tires are designed to fit the front axle of muscle cars, hot rods, etc., feature a lightweight radial design, and are designed to accelerate acceleration.
