ADAC presented the results of tests of summer tires

Recently, the results of their tests of summer tires presented the largest public organization of motorists in Germany - ADAC, which, together with its partners from Austria and Switzerland, has tested 31 models of tires.

16 195/65 R15 91V tire sizes have been installed on the car VW Golf, and another 15 tires of size 215/65 R16 98H - on the VW Tiguan. Most of the tests were conducted by experts ADAC on landfills owned by Bridgestone and Continental.

Although none of the participants was awarded the highest rating 'very good', almost a quarter of all tires could get an estimate of 'good', and the majority - 'satisfactory'. Furthermore, the characteristics of the two buses have been named 'acceptable' and one -'neudovletvoritelnymi '.

Under 195/65 R15 91V in the first place were the tires Pirelli Cinturato P1 Verde, which in the past year were not included in the summary table of tests because of too much difference between the test samples. Together with Pirelli assessment 'good' were also Bridgestone Turanza T001 tire, Conti PremiumContact 5, Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance and Esa-Tecar Spirit 5 HP, none of which experts did not find any significant deficiencies. Continental tires have won the test in the wet, and low tire Spirit 5, according to ADAC experts were "surprisingly good."

The number of tires, whose characteristics were rated as 'satisfactory', were Dunlop Sport BluResponse, Nokian Line (formerly xLine), Vredestein Sportrac 5, Aeolus PrecisionAce 2, Kumho Ecowing ES01 KH27, Michelin Energy Saver +, Sava Intensa HP, Semperit Comfort Life 2 , Hankook Ventus Prime³ and Maxxis Premitra HP5.

Dunlop Tyres, Nokian, Vredestein, Michelin, Sava, Semperit and Hankook not the best way in the tests were made on a wet track, while Kumho Maxxis and especially weak point proved durability. According to the ADAC, is located on the last tire GT Radial Champiro FE1 were evaluated only as 'acceptable' mainly due to lack of confidence in the wet performance.

In the next group, 215/65 R16 98H SUV, only two buses were rated 'good' - this Goodyear EfficientGrip SUV and Cooper Zeon 4XS Sport. Goodyear tires received the highest scores on the results of tests on a wet surface and made good on a dry track, as well as the durability and fuel economy tests. Tires Zeon 4XS were also the product of a well-balanced performance and successfully tested on dry and wet roads; only the characteristics of wear resistance prevented them to get the highest score.

'Satisfactory' in this group of tires were named Firestone Destination HP, Nokian Line SUV, Pirelli Scorpion Verde, Semperit Comfort Life 2 SUV, Uniroyal RainExpert 3 SUV, Barum Bravuris 4 × 4, General Tire Grabber GT, Apollo Apterra H / P, Hankook Dynapro HP2, BFGoodrich g-Grip SUV and the Bridgestone Dueler H / P Sport. Specifications Model Michelin Latitude Tour HP received only estimate 'acceptable' due to lack of lateral stability on wet roads. At the last place with the assessment 'satisfactory' is located tires Yokohama Geolandar SUV, which completely failed the tests for braking in the wet.

It is worth noting that both Michelin tire sizes have perfectly proved in the durability test. ADAC experts also commented on the presence of M + S marking on the sidewalls of the tires tested some SUV category - Barum, General Tire, Goodyear, Hankook, Michelin and Yokohama. According to the ADAC, such marking "creates the impression that these summer tires are not just suitable for off-road, but it is suitable for winter", while in fact the rubber compounds of the tires lose their elasticity at low temperatures and are made suitable for slush and snow .
