The Yokohama A008P tires were the first in the company's portfolio, approved by Porsche as the initial equipment of their cars. Soon after the 1989 release, the A008P tires were selected for the Porsche 911 (964), and the Japanese manufacturer considers this model to be its iconic product, because it was with it that the active cooperation with Porsche began in the primary segment. Now the legend returns - during a press conference at the Geneva Motor Show, Yokohama Rubber announced the release of the updated version of the Yokohama A008P.
The novelty A008P will go on sale in Europe in the autumn of this year. The tread pattern will be similar to the model that debuted in the late 1980s, but the new version of the A008P gets all the benefits that modern Yokohama technologies can offer, including a new case and an updated compound.
The prototype of the tires is presented at the Yokohama stand in Geneva: the tires are mounted on the 1989 Porsche 911 930 Turbo Cabriolet, temporarily provided to the Japanese manufacturer by the Porsche Museum.
Initially, the tires will be presented in sizes 205/55ZR16 91W and 245/45ZR16 94W for the front and rear axles.
