Four of the five new Porsche 911 GT3 cars will be equipped with specially designed premium Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 N1 tires of size 245/35 ZR20 and 305/30 ZR20 (for the front and rear axles respectively). These tires - a specially modified version of the model Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, developed in the technical partnership Porsche and Michelin and received a special mark N1. Compared with its predecessor, model N0, Pilot Sport Cup 2 N1 tires offer improved lap times and stability, as well as more sporty handling.

The new sports car 911 GT3 was presented by Porsche at the international motor show in Geneva.

The joint development of tires for the sports car, said Michelin, took two and a half years, and during this time, specialists of both companies managed to adjust the characteristics of the tires so that they are optimally suited for the 911 GT3. As a result, tires were obtained, providing a high level of traction, stable performance and excellent balance, as well as corresponding to the European rolling resistance standards.

The development included the creation of 350 prototype tires and intensive tests at the Michelin test center in Lado, France, and on the Nürburgring and Nardo race tracks in Germany and Italy.
