Pirelli company presented at the Geneva Motor Show its new development - futuristic technology Pirell Connesso. In fact, the Pirelli Connesso system is a combination of a bus-embedded sensor, a control unit, a cloud service and a special application that allows the car owner to obtain in real-time detailed information about the condition of the tires.

The Connesso system, based on the development of the Pirelli Cyber Tire 2005, looks like this: an easy-to-use sensor on the inner wall monitors the tire's pressure and temperature, and then sends its status data to a centralized control unit that analyzes the data and transfers it to the cloud service and Application for smartphone. The system also recognizes the identification code of each tire, monitors temperature and pressure even in the parking lot, and also determines static vertical loads, wear and mileage. The processed data allows to use tires in the optimal way and to predict their wear. In addition, Pirelli Connesso offers a number of exclusive features, such as a quick connection with the nearest dealer of the retail network Pirelli and information on nearby motor sport events.

The Pirelli Connesso system will initially be available for P Zero tires and Winter Sottozero 19-inch sizes and above. The world debut of the novelty will take place in the US market this summer, and in the future Pirelli plans that Connesso will appear in the key markets of Europe and the Far East.

Also, Pirelli is currently negotiating with several automakers and is considering the possibility of using a new development for primary tires.
