BFGoodrich releases a new winter tire Winter T/A KSI

Mar 14, 2017

Michelin North America has released a new winter tire BFGoodrich Winter T/A KSI.

The novelty is intended for the Canadian market, where 68% of motorists use winter tires.

The new tire will replace the Slalom KSI model. Unlike its predecessor, the Winter T/A KSI has a directional tread pattern and a T speed index.

In addition, the tires are made from an updated compound with an increased amount of silica, which improves adhesion at low temperatures. Frequent cutting of grooves increases the number of cutting edges of the tread pattern, the intersecting 3-D lamellae strengthen the stability of the shoulder blocks, and the centrally located solid rib improves steering. The toothed profile of the shoulder zone (similar to that of the BFG All-Terrain T/A KO2 model) creates an additional grip on deep snow. Wide circumferential and lateral grooves provide effective removal of water and liquid dirt from the contact patch. The housing protection prevents damage due to stuck stones.

T/A KSI tires will appear on the market in September 2017 in 32 sizes from 14 to 18 inches; The company will issue additional sizes in August 2018.

Tires Winter T/A KSI will be located in China. Michelin has not yet announced its intention to introduce a novelty in the US market.
