The global car market grew by 8%

The global car market in February grew by 7.7% to 7 million 17 thousand cars and light commercial vehicles, and the annual sales level, cleared from seasonality, calculated from the results of the previous month, amounted to 96 million 309 thousand cars. According to the results of the first two months of 2017, sales of cars in the world increased by 5.4% to 14 million 471 thousand units, according to data obtained by the agency "AUTOSTAT" in the consulting company LMC Automotive.

The world leader in car sales is China, where in February 1 million 912 thousand cars were sold (+ 20.5%). The world's second largest car market remains America with an index of 1 million 331 thousand cars (-0.8%). Sales of cars in the countries of Western Europe remained at last year's level and amounted to 1 million 141 thousand units (+ 0.8%). The automobile markets of the countries of Eastern Europe are also relatively stable - last month 273,400 cars were sold here (-0,6%). In South America, local dealers sold 187.4 thousand cars, which is 0.4% less than in February last year. Among the world's largest car markets, Japan (479.9 thousand units, + 7.6%), Korea (134.1 thousand units, + 7.9%) and Canada (123 thousand units, + 3.2%).
