Michelin will supply the Pilot Sport 4 tires for the entire first series of the new sports car Alpine A110 First Edition, which goes on sale in 1955 units. The novelty, first introduced to the public at the Geneva Motor Show this year, will receive 205/40ZR18 and 235/40ZR18 tires (for the front and rear axles, respectively).
A special version of the Pilot Sport 4s was developed by Michelin engineers to optimally complement the characteristics of the sports car. The development of tires took two years, and the test samples traveled more than 3000 km along the test routes, including the route of the Michelin Technology Center in Lado, the Clermont-Ferrand route and the Spanish test site Idiada.
"The demands of Alpine engineers prompted us to develop very high-tech tires that are perfectly adapted to the characteristics of the new car. We had to combine high performance sports in extreme driving conditions and maneuverability in everyday driving, "said Pierre Chaput, Michelin tire specialist.
The special version of tires Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is created from the made-to-order rubber mixture; The aramid belt is also designed specifically for novelty. In addition, the tire has a stylish and luxurious appearance thanks to the sidewalls created with the technology of Premium Touch. Tires received European marking A for grip on the wet road and C - for rolling resistance.
Michelin and legendary brand Alpine have been cooperating for many years. On their account, joint victories in motorsport, including in the world rally world championship in 1973.
