Apollo plant in Chennai will start supplying tires to Europe

The Apollo Tires tire plant in Chennai, India, is preparing to supply passenger car tires to the world's leading carmakers Ford and Volkswagen in the European markets.

The company successfully passed the certification of automakers and received the marks of Ford Q1 and Volkswagen A, meaning that the company can supply tires produced here to any of the world's factories.

The first test batch of tires for Volkswagen (about 1000 pieces) will be released in May this year, and then it is planned to start production for European Ford plants.

The enterprise in Chennai is the most advanced in the region, and besides tires for the local market (both primary and replacement), it produces products exported to Europe, the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and western Asia. The daily production capacity of the plant is 16 thousand cars and 6 thousand trucks / bus tires, and now Apollo is working to increase the production of truck tires - up to 12 thousand pieces a day.
