Goodyear awarded Highway Hero 2017 Award

Goodyear Tire & Rubber company named the next winner of its competition Highway Hero. The 34th award ceremony took place during the Mid-American Trucking Show in Kentucky, and the winner was a resident of Montana, David Webb, a professional truck driver from Wilson Logistics.

The award for the displayed heroism and courage was traditionally presented to Gary Medalis, marketing director of Goodyear.

Last June, on a highway in Washington State, Webb and his wife Carol saw a strange moving dump truck. Webb was able to see that the dump truck driver was lying motionless on the steering wheel; When the car began to slow down, Webb was able to catch up with her, climb into the cab and press the brake. Meanwhile, Carol summoned the rescuers, and Webb, pulling the driver out of the cab, tried to resuscitate him before the arrival of doctors. The driver eventually survived, and a heavy truck was stopped before it became the cause of the accident.

Goodyear Tire & Rubber presents awards to professional truck drivers who have shown courage and prevented a serious accident since 1983.
