Franco Annunziato re-elected as President of ETRMA

The Board of Directors of the European Tire and Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA) has approved the appointment of Franco Annunziato, Vice President and Senior Consultant at Bridgestone, as President of the Association. He was first elected to the post of President of ETRMA three years ago.

At the same meeting, Joan Vicenç Durán of the Consorcio Nacional de Industriales del Caucho was elected as Vice President of ETRMA. Both appointments take effect on 1 January 2021 for a period of three years.

The leadership of the association emphasized the need for industry contact with politicians at all levels; the association needs to determine in a timely manner the most appropriate measures to ensure the protection of jobs, production and innovation, while giving increased attention to environmental issues.

“Three years ago, when I took over as head of ETRMA, the global context was completely different. We now live in unprecedented times and are still trying to cope with the consequences of a protracted crisis, the timing of the end of which cannot yet be determined, ”said Franco Annunziato. “The tire industry believes it can make a significant contribution to the political goals of the European economy to create a safer, more decarbonized and digital transport environment.”
