Point S, with points of sale in 41 African countries, plans to double its retail network of 90 points in the next two years. Point S attributes this decision to "exceptional" sales in South Africa.
The African auto parts market is growing, primarily due to regulations that aim to ensure the safety of roads and fleets. Also, hybrid vehicles are starting to appear in the region, so there is a need for service centers capable of offering high-quality technical services and products under various brands for this segment.
“The African market is showing excellent growth potential,” said Charles Legrand, Head of Point S Middle East and Africa. “We can pride ourselves on having a quality retail and service network in the region that is constantly adapting to the needs of each market.”
In South Africa and Morocco, where Point S has been present for several years, the company is actively developing: at the moment in South Africa, where Point S came in 2012, the company has 65 points of sale and service, and by the end of the year there will be 70 of them, despite crisis due to a pandemic. In Morocco, following the opening of its first store in 2015, the chain has 20 stores, with two more to open by the end of 2020. Moroccan centers are distinguished by an extremely wide range of services - in addition to sales and replacement of tires, as well as car maintenance, they offer refueling and insurance services.
Also this year, the Point S network appeared in Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon and Senegal. Two stores have been opened in Côte d'Ivoire, with 14 more to appear in the next 4 years thanks to a collaboration with local partner Oil Company Pétro Ivoire. In Cameroon and Senegal, the opening of the first sales and service points of the international network will take place in the coming weeks.
