Continental partners with Mercedes-Benz in Asia Pacific markets

Continental Tires has been named a "preferred partner" in the global aftermarket Mercedes-Benz tire program in the Asia Pacific markets starting in September 2020. The partnership extends to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region: India, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, China and Taiwan, where it will operate for two years, as well as Malaysia, where the one-year partnership period is set. The program involves intensive cooperation between companies, the development of special marketing concepts and joint campaigns.

Launched two years ago by Mercedes-Benz in the Asia-Pacific region, the Preferred Partner Program aims to strengthen tire aftermarket cooperation, mutual sales support and knowledge exchange between Mercedes-Benz and tire manufacturers.

“Manufacturers of premium cars have the highest demands not only on their products, but also on their tire suppliers. This applies not only to OE tires, but also to replacement tires that are required throughout the vehicle's life, ”said Ferdinand Hoyos, executive vice president of regional Continental Tires. "Continental's dedication to the highest quality and performance levels makes us the ideal partner for this program."

The Asia-Pacific region is one of the key growth markets for Continental Tires in the world, where the company is actively expanding its presence. In 2019, Conti officially launched production at its plant in Rayong, Thailand to support planned growth in the replacement and OE tire business.

As part of its partnership with Mercedes-Benz, Continental Tires, a “preferred partner” in a number of Asia-Pacific markets, will work with the automaker to offer local customers the highest level of service and after-sales support. According to Conti, the partnership provides the company with an excellent platform to further expand its presence in the region.
