Bridgestone optimizes its tire plant in China

Mar 07, 2017

Bridgestone will invest 494 thousand euros in the creation of a manufacturing enterprise that will deal with the vulcanization of bus chambers. The enterprise will serve the Chinese plant of the company in Hoizhou, Guangdong Province, and will be located near it.

The plant annually produces about 1.7 million truck and bus tires, and for its needs, various suppliers purchase about 45 tons of vulcanized chambers each year. The company decided to set up its own plant for vulcanization, since the old procurement system takes a long time, and is too expensive.

The new production will allow the plant to completely abandon external purchases of vulcanized chambers, Bridgestone notes.
