General Motors Company in the end of March held a solemn ceremony of awarding 118 of its best suppliers.
The annual GM Supplier of the Year Award was held on March 31 in Orlando, Florida, and awards were received from suppliers from 15 countries, with more than half of them already awarded last year. Among them was the company Bridgestone, recognized as one of the best suppliers of General Motors for the second year in a row. In total, over the years of cooperation, Bridgestone has 15 awards from the automaker.
As stated by Mike Martini, President of Bridgestone Americas for the supply of primary tires in the US and Canada, this award confirms the quality of the company's products, services and manufacturing processes. This achievement, Martini stressed, was made possible thanks to the efforts of all company employees around the world.
The award of General Motors on behalf of the company was given to Mike Martini and Fred Cusimano (Fred Cusimano), Bridgestone's senior director for GM supplies.
Bridgestone has become one of five tire manufacturers that received General Motors awards as the best supplier of 2016. In addition to Bridgestone, Hankook Tire, Kumho Tire, Maxxis and Michelin North America were honored.
