Cooper recalls nearly 2,000 Cooper and Mastercraft tires

Cooper Tire & Rubber is recalling approximately 2,000 Cooper CS5 Grand Touring and Mastercraft LSR Grand Touring tires due to potential peeling problems.

The tires to be recalled were produced at the American Cooper plant in Tupelo, Mississippi between July 19 and August 9, 2020. In the shoulder area of the tire, the tread can flake off, the manufacturer says, and this, in turn, can cause an accident. These tires may have a noticeable "abnormality" in the outer shoulder area, and in some cases, they can affect the quality of the steering and movement.

In total, Cooper recalls 1983 tires of size 225/55R17.
