Bridgestone celebrates its 50th anniversary

Bridgestone Americas announces that its plant in Abilene, Texas recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
The plant, which produces high-quality rubber products and Bandag pre-vulcanized treads, began operations in 1971. In 50 years of work, he has received several certifications for safety, quality and environmental protection, including ISO 9001 and 14001 certificates, as well as several regional awards for achievements in the field of environmental safety.
“I want to thank all former and current plant employees for their contributions to the retreading industry and the Bandag network,” said Chris Daniel, CEO of Bandag Manufacturing. “Truck drivers, fleets and the transportation industry rely on Bandag retreaded treads. This demonstrates Bandag's commitment to innovation and quality in manufacturing. ”
Today the plant employs about 170 people.
